Mr. Larry Kulchawik has served the exhibit industry for the past 43 years. His tenure in the exhibit industry included 26 years at, then the world largest exhibit marketing company, Exhibitgroup-Giltspur, then 8 years served at Derse Exhibits, and then 9 years at 3D Exhibits, Inc.   

Over the past 30 years, between his real work duties, Kulchawik has also served as President of EDPA- tradeshow suppliers in the USA, and then President of IFES- a world federation representing tradeshow suppliers from over 40 countries.

Today, he is now consulting, but remains active with IFES and EDPA and several universities to continue to pushing to unite world harmony within the tradeshow marketing industry. Presently writing a book entitled “Doing Tradeshows from One Country to the Next”. Design, regulations, and cultural differences for tradeshows.

Kulchawik’s achievements in the exhibit marketing industry include:

  • President of EDPA (Exhibit Designer & Producers Association) in USA
     
  • President of IFES (International Federation of Exposition Services)- 42 countries 
     
  • First EDPA International Chapter Chairman -Directed to EDPA members interested in international business and partnerships.

    He promoted the first EDPA participation at Euroshop in Dusseldorf, Germany
     
  • First American president of IFES-(International Federation of Exhibition Services).

During his term at IFES he assisted to create new membership qualifications to include all country companies and associations in the tradeshow world. IFES now represents 41 different countries.

  • He assisted to create a plan to build an education program to share tradeshow industry knowledge and training centers to unify world tradeshow practices as well as building cultural awareness for doing business outside of your region.
     
  • Assisted to draft the IFES Code of Conduct for international collaborations.
     
  • Still serves on the board as Chairman- IFES Past Presidents Council.

Other Tradeshow Industry initiatives by Larry Kulchawik….. 

  • Exhibits Standards for Safety Committee Chairman- In conjunction with EDPA member experts and Underwriters Laboratory, EDPA drafted the first legal document on exhibit building standards for fabrication and safety. The document is registered as UL2305 with Underwriters Laboratory. 
     
  • Exhibit Designer Degree Program -. Kulchawik has worked with FIT University (Fashion Institute of Technology) –a part of NYU, to develop a Masters Degree Program in Exhibit Design. This program is now in its 9th year graduating 62 students to date. EDPA continues to support FIT as well as working with Bemidji state University in Minnesota with their undergraduate degree in exhibit design. 
     
  • Served on the OSPI Board of Directors- a group of select Octanorm users with international partnerships 

    Served on the CEIR (Center for Exhibit Industry Research) Foundation Board for 4 years
     
  • Presently serves on the International board at the Chicago Chamber of Commerce 
     
  • Assisted to organize the IFES Annual meeting for – London 2004, Madrid 2005, Milan 2008, Paris 2008, Exporama in Athens 2007, Shanghai 2010, Oxford 2011, Moscow 2012, South Africa 2013, Delhi, India 2014.
     
  • Guest speaker on exhibit marketing in London, Shanghai, Sao Paulo, Athens, Vienna, Brussels, Milan, Duesseldorf, Paris, Cancun, and Monterrey, Mexico.
     
  • Taught college level tradeshow marketing classes at FIT/NYC, Bemidji State, MN, and Southern Illinois University.
     
  • Created a professional working group in 2008 for the World Trade Center Chicago to provide marketing services for international companies looking to establish a presence in the USA.
